CitizenM plans Seattle waterfront hotel as Dutch brand starts its South Lake Union project

The 264 rooms were built months ago in Europe, complete with most everything but the mattresses. Now they're being stacked like giant Legos in South Lake Union.

When the stacking is completed the result will be Seattle's first all-prefabricated hotel.

The same team is planning its second hotel for a waterfront site that abuts the the Alaskan Way Viaduct, which is soon be dismantled to clear the way for a $688 million waterfront. However, it will be built using traditional construction methods.
