Each week, several members of our Milwaukee team teach a class at UW-Madison called CEE 392: Construction Coordination Using BIM. This class is taught through the UW-Madison School of Engineering in the Construction Engineering and Management Program to primarily fourth and fifth year engineering students. One of our Construction Executives, a Project Engineer, a Design Phase Manager and two Integrated Construction Coordinators participate in the teaching of this course each week.

In this class, students are introduced to Revit and Navisworks programs. Throughout the semester, students model a building in Revit, which includes architectural, structural, and mechanical systems. They then transfer the model into Navisworks and coordinate the mechanical systems. Students learn the fundamentals in modeling all facets of building and coordinating a project through various demos, guest lecturers and homework assignments. By learning how a project team would work in the real word, students are exposed to the tasks and technology they might encounter as they start their careers in the industry.
