A new model in comprehensive neurological care featuring flexibility for modern healthcare.

The Future of Healthcare Construction: Flexible Spaces

Abbott Northwestern Hospital built-out a 43,000 square foot neuroscience unit on the sixth floor of the Heart Hospital to accommodate the growing number of neuroscience patients. The new space provides 13 neuro intensive care rooms along with 43 general neurology beds. The intensive care unit offers care for those being treated for strokes, brain tumors, and other brain-related conditions, and the neuroscience unit brings all neurology services to one location, offering more comprehensive services.

The team used modular, DIRTT walls for all inpatient and ICU rooms, providing the future flexibility that modern healthcare settings require. This was the first installation of modular walls in I-occupancy in the State of Minnesota.
