Constructing the Dakota Range Wind Project (300 MW) is a testament to our project teams, who have successfully delivered recent wind projects for Xcel, including Rush Creek (600 MW) and Cheyenne Ridge (500 MW) in Colorado and Blazing Star I & II (400 MW) in Minnesota. 

The project site consists of flat to gently rolling topography with no steep slopes or bluffs, except for a few areas near rivers, creeks and other water features. The site is primarily used for agricultural purposes and consists of fields interspersed with small low-relief valleys that drain water out of the region. 

Our scope of work includes access roads, public road upgrades, foundations, underground collection, one 345 kV substation, O&M building installation and erection of 71-V136 and 1- V120 Vestas wind turbines. At peak construction, the site will employ 300 craft and 25 salaried team members.
