Northern Arizona University Fieldhouse Renovations / FlagstaffAZ
What does it take to repurpose a 1965 facility into a state-of-the-art multi-purpose event center?
The Northern Arizona University Fieldhouse Renovations project was a major renovation of approximately 94,000 square feet of the fieldhouse constructed in 1965. The project included space reconfiguration and interior renovation, structural repairs, and a new west entrance. With the goal of repurposing the original fieldhouse facility into a multi-purpose event center, the project included new acoustics, new lighting, new flooring and new seating. Additionally, the project complies with ADA standards, fire life safety and other code upgrades, as well as chilled water taps to the existing infrastructure. The fieldhouse is located on the university's north campus, directly across from the Cline Library on Knoles Drive and adjacent to the new Native American Cultural Center that is currently in construction.
