Communicating with clarity
One of the keys to building a successful relationship between our leaders and team members is strong communication, including setting clear expectations. We work hard to remove obstacles for our team and open a path toward success. We’ve cultivated a culture that welcomes two-way feedback and promotes proactive mentorship of younger team members in order to create a solid pipeline of talent who understand Mortenson’s values and know how we work as a team.
Redefining our position with diversification
While the core of our business has historically been rooted in construction, we are always looking for opportunities to bring our full skillset to a project, to differentiate ourselves from the competition and provide added value to our customers. We’re looking 10 to 20 years down the road to help guide our decision-making so that we can guarantee success for our clients, our partners and our team members for years to come.
Achieving ideal outcomes with solid plans
For us, every project begins with creating an operational plan that gets all team members and our craft team on the same page. Everyone must be pulling in the same direction. This plan helps us understand costs and stay on track with regard to schedule and budget. It also helps us all get to know one another as a team and to get excited about working together – and ultimately delivering a great finished product.
