As Senior Capital Markets Manager, Matt is responsible for structuring joint ventures, co-development partnerships, managing capital relationships (equity and debt) and selling assets. Prior to Mortenson, Matt was a Vice President at Cadence Capital Partners where he focused on business development for both equity and debt. He also held positions at VennPoint Real Estate, a Chicago based developer and on the Chicago multi-housing team of JLL (formerly HFF).

Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts in finance from the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business. Matt lives in Minneapolis, MN with his wife Kristen and daughter Makenna. In his spare time, he enjoys competing in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, boxing and rock climbing.
